Samantha is a Māori medical student who has just completed her fifth year of medical school culminating in a 4-week placement at the Langimalie Clinic in Onehunga. Sam grew up in Wellington and moved to Auckland in 2013 to attend the University of Auckland after receiving the Chancellor’s Award for Top Māori and Pacific Scholars. Sam has spent much of her time at medical school exploring the cultural and ethnic inequalities in healthcare and this is one of her passions.

General Practice offers a unique medical experience, accentuated at Langimalie. With warm, welcoming staff, a focus on student and junior doctor training and a passion for Tongan Health, practices like these are at the forefront of reducing the health disparities present in New Zealand.
